“LiceAli Cup” – The First Edition Takes Flight on Birdy Fish Foils at Circolo Vela Torbole
News and Communications
The first-ever LiceAli Cup took place at Circolo Vela Torbole, a regatta organized under the patronage of the Italian Sailing Federation.
The event brought student teams from the Sacra Famiglia Sports Science High School in Brenzone sul Garda to the water, competing aboard the flying Birdy Fish foiling boats.
This initiative is part of a broader school program aimed at combining sailing with sports education. As noted by FIV board member Domenico Foschini, the project was made possible thanks to the joint efforts of sports and cultural institutions working together with sailing clubs to promote growth, values, and passion for the sport among young people.
A big thank you goes out to the race officials, the CVT staff, Professor Davide Ferrari who oversees the school’s sports programs and of course, the Italian Sailing Federation and the XIV FIV Zone Committee, which has been supporting and promoting the Sacra Famiglia sports science high school for over ten years.
Mauro
Versini, President of Circolo Vela Torbole, commented:
"It was a real honor to host such a fantastic initiative. We’ve always
been committed to supporting youth sports, and we’re especially excited about
the growing interest in foiling. We look forward to taking part in more
important events like this in the years to come."
