World Sailing – Offshore Special Regulations
During the weekend of April 11–12, a course dedicated to onboard safety and emergency management took place, led by speaker and industry specialist Umberto Verna.
Two intense and highly educational days, aimed at discussing the main emergency situations that can occur aboard recreational boats, both sailing and motor yachts.
👥 Around twenty participants attended, including several CVT members.
🔹 Saturday morning, starting at 8:30 am, was dedicated to analyzing the mandatory equipment required for cruising and racing. Participants also had the opportunity to closely examine non-mandatory equipment that is nonetheless essential for improving emergency management on board.
🔹 On Sunday, the focus shifted to practical training at the E. Meroni municipal swimming pool: a hands-on and engaging session to understand what happens in the event of a man overboard while fully clothed, and to simulate boarding a life raft in abandon-ship scenarios.
A valuable experience to increase awareness, preparedness, and safety at sea. 🌊
