CVT WASZP Team Ready for the Season's Main Challenge
The Circolo Vela Torbole WASZP Team competed in Foiling Week 2026, hosted by Fraglia Vela Malcesine.
A total of 10 CVT sailors took to the water for four intense days of racing, facing highly variable weather conditions. The final day featured strong winds and challenging waves, putting every competitor to the test.
In the WASZP 6.9 fleet, Artur Brighenti claimed overall victory thanks to an impressive streak of four consecutive race wins in the final four races. 🥇 Elisa Bombana finished second overall and first female, after opening the regatta with two race victories on the first day. 🥇 The youngest member of the team, Daniel Castaldi, also delivered an excellent performance, finishing 4th overall and 3rd male. Competing in their first Foiling Week, Jacopo Frassine and Travis Greenberg finished 10th and 11th overall, respectively.
In the WASZP 7.5 fleet, Olivia Castaldi, the team's sole representative, dominated the standings through remarkable consistency, particularly during the final day of racing, to secure the overall victory. 🥇
In the WASZP 8.2 fleet, Luca Franceschini and Jacopo Travaini narrowly missed the top ten, finishing 11th and 12th, respectively. Pietro Bertolone placed 30th, continuing his steady progress throughout the season, while Rodolfo Compagnoni finished 52nd after competing in three of the four racing days.
Congratulations to the entire team for their commitment and excellent results. The focus now shifts to the season's biggest objective: the 2026 WASZP European Championship. 💪🔥
