The start of the sailing season on Garda Trentino, with the electric buoys that have maintained their position perfectly on the race course with wind at 20 knots and short and steep waves Wind and sunshine in the first two days: 6 races disputed with Altea, by Andrea Racchelli, sprinting towards the grand finale.

The first regatta organized at the Circolo Vela Torbole - on behalf of the Italian Sailing Federation and in collaboration with the Italian class Melges 24, in this 2020 season: the three days that will award the national title of the Melges 24 monotype on Sunday have so far been characterized by special weather and wind conditions. Twenty-two boats registered with 150-200 people involved in the event, which officially marks the start of the great regattas on Garda Trentino with foreign participation: six nations are represented with Switzerland, Germany, Estonia, Hungary, Great Britain as well as Italy. The first two days were amazing with sunshine and south wind from 16 to 20 knots and six regattas regularly completed; official debut also for the electric buoys managed by the newborn Consorzio Garda Trentino Vela, which maintained the position of the race course without any problem, despite the rather challenging conditions. With four partial victories, a second and a fourteenth discarded for an early start, Andrea Racchelli on Altea is clearly ahead of the fleet with a 10 point lead over the Estonian Toniste on "Lenny", first of the "Corinthian", non-professional crew, winner in the sixth and last race of the day. Third is Michele Paoletti from Trieste on "Strambapapà" assisted by an exceptional crew with his father Diego and his wife Giovanna Micol on board. "The sailing movement has already been bringing important presences on Garda Trentino for some weeks now thanks to the training not only of the Italian Olympic teams, but also of different nations - commented the new president of the Circolo Vela Torbole Mauro Versini - From this weekend we add the regattas, which for this occasion have begun to involve foreign crews at the Circolo Vela Torbole; a certainly positive note for the hotels and businesses in the area for a real restart.
