Danish victory at the Wagner Cup-Bertamini trophy
Bad weather stops the Dragons at the 3 races done on Friday
In sailing people are used to taking what there is; for the 16th Wagner Cup-7th Bertamini Trophy, organised over the weekend by the Circolo Vela Torbole on behalf of the Italian Sailing Federation, on Friday 1st October they were lucky to have a first day with a nice wind, some sunshine and almost 30 Dragoons who sailed in all their beauty and elegance for three consecutive regattas. The following two days, rain and bad weather were the protagonists, leaving room only for healthy chats between crews, appreciated cappuccinos and all that made the wait, which was in vain, deceive. The 16th edition of the Wagner Cup-Trofeo Bertamini remained with the results of the first day and the victory went to the Danish Schönherr Jørgen-Christian Videbæk-Joost Houweling, who preceded the German Link Stephan-Frank Butzman-Michi Lipp. Bronze for the other German crew formed by Pramann Dirk-Markus Koy and Swedish champion Fredrik Löööf (1 gold and 2 bronze medals at the Olympic Games in London, Beijing and Sydney on the Star). First of the Italians Giuseppe La Scala on the historic "Galatea" (seventh overall), second Michele Benvenuti in the crew with Pablo Soldano and Daniel Chiesa and third ITA 76 helmed by Giuseppe Duca with Eulisse Salvatore and Vittorio Zaoli (eleventh and twelfth overall respectively. The next event organized by the Club chaired for this four-year period by Mauro Versini is scheduled at the end of the month (30 October - 1 November) for the usual Halloween Cup of the Optimist class and is already engaging the secretariat throughout the pre-event organization.
