Ilca 4 World Championships in Ireland: beautiful podium for Gaia
Another fabulous competitive result for the colours of Circolo Vela Torbole and for Italy: Gaia Bolzonella won the bronze medal at the Ilca 4 World Championships, which have just ended in Dun Laoghaire, Ireland, and were organised by Royal St George Yacht Club and The National Yacht Club with International Laser Class Association - ILCA!
After 6 qualifying races (2-7-2-5-10-7) Gaia put the pedal to the metal in the finals with two firsts, two thirds, a fifth and a 16th (discarded). A bronze that came close to silver by one point, won by Petra Marednic of Croatia. Congratulations for the rainbow gold from the Italian and Gardesano colours of Emma Mattivi from the nearby Fraglia Vela Riva.
Congratulations to coach Fabrizio Lazzerini, Gaia and all her family who have supported her and continue to support her in this great passion of hers. We would like to remind you that this summer Gaia has also made herself useful for the educational activities of Circolo Vela Torbole, helping the sailing school, where everything starts and then continues in the sporting and competitive path of our youngsters who honourably carry the Circolo Vela Torbole and Federazione Italiana Vela flag around the world!
