A Riva e Brenzone i due Trofeo d'Argento

Garda Trentino, a real water sports amusement park, once again provided a great day of wind and sun with ideal conditions for the sailing regattas held in Torbole. At Circolo Vela Torbole, in fact, an extraordinary edition of the 46th Optimist d'Argento Trophy-7th Turazza Trophy ended - an event organized by delegation of the Italian Sailing Federation - with the participation of 31 nations and almost 300 racers; Eight races in all with a decidedly high level, given that many foreign teams qualified for the Optimist World Championship scheduled on Garda Trentino at the beginning of July, are already on the lake to train on the rainbow race course such as USA, Chile, Argentina, Brazil, Ukraine, Thailand, Cayman Islands, Hong Kong. The ideal conditions of wind from 8-10 to 14 knots offered a very interesting competitive confrontation from a technical and tactical point of view with the junior category, which saw in the first positions many of the athletes who will be protagonists at the world championship. As far as the younger cadets are concerned, the ranking was very short and the podium remained the same as the previous day: victory for Jasper Karlsen (CVT Maderno) and second and third place for Artur and Addam Brighenti from Circolo Nautico Brenzone, a club that also won the Silver Optimist Trophy for its category, having placed the best two cadets. Female victory for Irene Faini (FVMalcesine), followed by Ginevra Rovaglia (Monaco) and Vittoria Berteotti (Fraglia Vela Riva). First 9 positions of the juniors all foreigners with victory of the Irish Rocco Wright, who detached the second of 9 points, the American James Pine. Third step of the podium for the Brazilian Alex Di Francesco. Alberto Avancini, first Italian, tenth overall with a disqualification at the start of the penultimate round, which made him lose a few positions compared to previous days. Excellent sixth overall and first female the Ukrainian Alina Shapovalova, second place to Thailand with Khunboonjan and third the French Valade. Once again the Optimist d'Argento Trophy went to Fraglia Vela Riva that placed the best 4 juniors in the overall ranking (12-13-22-27) out of 255 helmsmen at the start.
